Aussies in the hunt at European Q-School

BY Bruce Young | European Challenge Tour | 2008 European Tour Q-School - Final Stage | Round Three | 16 Nov 2008

At the half way mark of Final Stage qualifying for the 2009 European Tour, several Australians are well placed to secure one of the 30 cards handed out at the completion of 108 holes.

Wade Ormsby made the biggest move in round three when his round of 64 moved him from 45th to a share of 5th. It was a significant turnaround for Ormsby who had recorded a round of 75 on day two. Ormsby has played the Nationwide Tour this season but is back attempting to regain a place on the Tour on which he has played for most of his career to date.

Queenslander Tony Carolan, Canberra’s Matthew Millar and New South Wales’ Anthony Summers are still very much in the thick of things in the hunt for the right to play with full status in Europe next year, Carolan in 34th position while Millar and Summers are 40th.

Steve Jeffress is 50th, Michael Curtain 73rd, Gareth Paddison 82nd Andrew Tampion 92nd and Jarrod Moseley 150th.

A cut will be made to the top 70 and ties at the completion of round four.
