Play suspended at Sportsbet Masters

Within twenty minutes of the afternoon field at the Sportsbet Australian Masters being cleared from the course for pending inclement weather, the heavens opened with a torrential thunderstorm accompanied by hail.
When play was called at 4.10pm local time, the round of 67 by Scott Hend still stood atop the leadeboard. He led by two over Victorian Anthony Brown, South African Tim Clark, and Queenslander Michael Wright with a large group at 2 under.
Clark joined Hend in the lead when he eagled the 10th to follow an earlier eagle at the 7th and at that point he and Hend had broken two clear of the rest of the field.
Clark bogeyed the 11th and then recorded a very soft bogey at the near driveable par four 13th before he and the rest of the field were ordered to take cover by tournament officials.
Play is expected to resume by 5.45pm local time.
