Storms delay play at Coolum

A gathering storm has stopped play at the Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship with players called from the golf course at 3.03pm.
A decision on what further action will be taken is to be made at 4.15pm local time.
At the time play was called, Victorian Peter Wilson and early leader Tim Wilkinson held the lead at 6 under par with Wilson still with four holes to play.
Wilson had taken a two shot lead when he turned in 29 and then added an eighth birdie of the round at the 12th. Disaster struck at the 13th when he found the trees with his second and he was forced to chip out short of the green. He was unable to get up and down for bogey and his outright lead had disappeared.
Wilson finished 3rd behind Michael Long at the recent WAPGA Championship. He has played the Canadian Tour in recent years but in 2008 has played in the Pacific Islands and domestically as he tries to attend to the needs of three children under the age of 4.
Also doing well in the afternoon field were Peter Senior at 5 under and Mathew Goggin at 4 under.
