King poised for back-to-back wins

South Australia’s Sarah King is poised for back to back wins after a solid third round at the Dunes medal championship today.

A one under round of 72 saw King maintain her four-stroke lead over fellow South Australian Stephanie Na, who also shot a 72 today.

A win at the Dunes would give King a rare double, after winning the Tasmanian 72 hole stroke tournament last month.

Victoria’s Stacey Keating was unable to make any headway into the leaders and is in third place on one under, seven shots off the pace.

Long Island’s Youngjin Chi provided the excitement of the third round with a hole in one on the 135m third hole. The ace helped her record her first sub par round of the tournament to jump up the leaderboard into 11th position.

The Dunes Medal, played at the Dunes course on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, is a national ranking event, with points awarded for the Karrie Webb series. A win for King would see her leapfrog Ashlee Dewhurst into first place.
