Smith stays cool at LPGA Q-School

West Australia’s Kristie Smith has built on her even par start from yesterday with a steady one under round today at the USLPGA Q-School tournament in Florida.

The rookie pro’s round at the Champions course saw her jump three places into T30th while Anna Rawson also had another solid round shooting one under at the Legends course to be in T19th position.

Sarah Kemp would be disappointed with her five over round and now sits outside the top 70 – the magical cut off point for the final day shootout, but happily for Sarah Oh her wonderful second round of three under has leapfrogged her into T58th – a great improvement from yesterday’s position outside the top 100.

Michelle Wie is the talk of Q-School, firing a superb 7 under round of 65 on the Champions course to be tied for the lead with Japanese star Shiho Oyama on ten under.

After 72 holes the tournament will be cut to the top 70 and ties. On the final day the top 20 will earn a USLPGA card for 2009.
