Q-School Final tees off at Peninsula

Ninety eight players have taken to the course to begin their quest for 35 cards on offer as Final Stage of 2008 PGA Tour of Australasia Tour School begins today.
Contested over four rounds at the Peninsula Country Golf Club (South Course) in Frankston, Victoria, the Final Stage will see a cut after 54 holes, with the leading 70 players plus ties progressing to the final round on Friday.
The top 35 players will be awarded Tour cards for 2009, with 36th – 60th places offered provisional cards and membership of the PGA of Australia.
Rookie pro, Tim Stewart, is amongst the more recognisable names in the 98-man field this week. The 2006 Australian Amateur champion is joined by other leading names including Rohan Blizard and Nathan Uebergang, who are looking to secure a domestic Tour card for 2009.
Michael Foster and Grant Scott lead a field of twenty-two amateurs hopeful of a prized Tour card at this end of this week.
