King and Tschudin head Q-School charge

Victorian Andrew Tschudin has joined Sydney’s Jason King at the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes at the 2008 PGA Tour of Australasia Qualifying School in Victoria.

Tschudin fired a second round 69 to join overnight leader King who shot a second round 71 after his opening day 67.

The pair holds a one shot lead over the NSW pair of Tim Stewart and Chris Carey on five under, with four players including Michael McGrath, Adam Wilcox, Dale Harris and New Zealand’s Jared Pender a further shot back.

Contested over four rounds at the Peninsula Country Golf Club (South Course) in Frankston Victoria, the Final Stage will see 98 players contest the event which will have a cut after the completion of tomorrow’s 54 holes, with the leading 70 players plus ties progressing to the final round on Friday.

The top 35 players will be awarded Tour cards for 2009, with 36th – 60th places offered provisional cards and membership of the PGA of Australia.
