Park, Marshall share Girl's Amateur lead

Indooroopilly’s Jessica Park and Pacific’s Jacki Marshall share the first round lead of the 2008 Queensland Girl’s Amateur Championship at Brisbane’s Gailes Golf Club.
Park and Marshall both carded two-under par rounds of 71 to be two shots clear of third placed Annie Choi (Gainsborough Greens) and Ashley Ona (Concord).
Park and Marshall recorded almost identical rounds on day one. Starting from the 10th tee, both players eagled the short par-five 15th, with Park recording birdies on 17 and 18 and Marshall also recording a birdie on 18 for a three-under par outward nine of 34. Both players came home in 37 for their two-under totals.
Nadine White and Anna Lim lead the Division Two scoring (handicaps 7 – 45) – both players recording six-over par 79s.
Defending champion Saki Suzuki carded a three-over par 76.
The second and final round of qualifying will commence tomorrow morning with the top eight leading players after 36 holes qualifying for the Queensland Girl’s Amateur Championship, a match play format commencing Wednesday morning.
