Marshall, Na top qualifiers at Girl's Am

Pacific’s Jacki Marshall has held onto her overnight lead to finish top qualifier going into tomorrow’s match play section of the 2008 Queensland Girl’s Amateur Championship at Gailes Golf Club.
With warmer conditions and faster greens testing all the players on day two, Marshall shot a second round one-over par 74 to finish the two qualifying rounds in a one-under par total of 145. She finishing qualifying two shots clear of Ellie Na, who recorded the best round of day two with a highly impressive three-under par 70.
Equal overnight leader Jessica Park qualified in third position following a second round four-over par 77.
Anna Lim (Gainsborough Greens) won the 36-hole gross prize for Division 2 (Handicaps 7-45) after shooting rounds of 79 and 82 for a 15-over par total of 161.
Another Gainsborough player, Annie Choi, won the Under-14 Best Gross division with solid rounds of 73 and 78. Choi finished two shots ahead of Sarah Kirsch (Millaa Millaa), who herself narrowly missed out on a spot in tomorrow’s top qualifying rounds when she was beaten in a sudden death playoff for eighth qualifying position by Amy Pollock (Mt Warren Park).
Saeka Hara, the 16-handicapper from Parkwood on the Gold Coast, won the 36-hole Best Nett division with nett scores of 70 and 66.
The first round of match play will commence tomorrow morning with the top 8 leading players competing for the Queensland Girls’ Amateur Championship. Qualifiers of the Second Flight and Under 14 Years Flight will also commence their matches tomorrow morning.
