Extending its collaboration with the renowned club designer, Dunlop formally introduced the new Tad Moore Blades at the 2003 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida The irons showcase Moore’s elegant design, as well as Dunlop’s commitment to the value-conscious avid golfer. The 2-SW set features a U.S.-made soft 255 Carpenter stainless steel alloy that gives the irons a forged feel, at a significantly reduced cost. The mid-sized heads are hard chrome finished for a classic look. Premium True Temper Dynamic Golf shafts are standard. PGA professional John Maginnes is currently playing the Blades on Tour.
Moore opted for a traditional, muscle-back shape for the heads. Using a progressive weighting technique, he adjusted mass at the hitting area to create the optimal center of gravity for each club. Longer irons are designed with a low COR that rotates the club at impact, creating more lift. Shorter irons have a neutral or slightly higher COR designed to restrict club rotation, which improves control and accuracy into the green. Suggested retail for the set is US$399.
“We see the Tad Moore Blades as statement product, designed to appeal to better players who want ultimate feel and response from their irons,” said Andre Emery, vice president of product development for Focus Golf Systems, the exclusive licensee of Dunlop golf clubs and equipment. “We take great pride in bringing the golf enthusiast exciting technology, design and performance at affordable prices. I think the Blades showcase what we can do.”
