With Tiger Woods' win at the Ford Championship at Doral, Nike Golf is enjoying conspicuous success with four wins in just nine weeks on the PGA Tour. With its enthusiasm for smart and relevant innovation in golf equipment, apparel, ball and footwear, Nike Golf is producing winning results.
Using the power and geometry of Nike's new SasQuatch driver, in combination with Nike Golf's innovative ball and club technology, Nike Golf's athletes have propelled Nike Golf to lead the PGA Tour in driver and iron wins with four, according to the Darrell Survey. Woods, Campbell and Sabbatini represent three of the top-4 on the official PGA Tour money list, with Sabbatini sitting in the number one spot. In addition, the driver/ball combination of the SasQuatch and Nike One Platinum ball is leading in PGA Tour wins with three.
Woods' victory at Doral is his second of the PGA Tour season and 48th of his career. On the Blue Monster, Woods averaged 304-yard drives with the winning combination of Nike Golf's new SasQuatch driver and the Nike One Platinum ball. In the final round, he was the only player to reach the monstrous 603-yard 12th hole in two shots, where he made birdie en route to his three-under-par score of 69.
Woods also demonstrated a stunning exhibition of precise approach shots into the greens using Nike Forged Blades irons. With a rate of 81%, Woods tied for first in greens in regulation and exceeded his current season average of 73.9%. Rounding out his bag were his Nike Ignite Fairway Woods, the T60 and T40, and his 56 and 60-degree Nike wedges. Woods also wore his own line of Nike Golf apparel from the Tiger Woods Collection, SP 7 TW Nike Golf footwear, and the Dri-Fit Tour glove.
Since its launch last year, Nike Golf's SasQuatch driver has won 10 times globally and six times on the PGA Tour.
