Se Ri Pak wins third title of the season

Well after a quiet year last year in which she failed to win, South Korean Se Ri Pak has bounced back with vengeance this season and her convincing win over Maria Hjorth and a strong field was her third this year and her 11th overall in less than four seasons on tour.
Pak controlled the event following her second round 62 although she was caught briefly in the last round by a charging Maria Hjorth, whose last round included two bogeys. Hjorth had birdied six of eight holes from the ninth through the sixteenth but a bogey at the par five seventeenth stole the momentum from her and although Pak needed to birdie the last two holes to draw ahead she was able to do so.
For Hjorth however she is in the middle of an outstanding run having produced six top threes in her last seven starts. She has yet to win this season but it would seem it is just a matter of time.
New Zealander Marnie McGuire turned in her best effort since her third at last year’s Safeway Championship and her second best finish in her LPGA Tour career. Prior to joining the USLPGA Marnie had played with success in Japan winning four times there over five seasons.
Of the other Australians Teske was 20th ($US11,000) Webb 23rd ($US10,000) Tamie Durdin followed her 3rd last week with a 27th, Jane Crafter 33rd, Karen Pearce 41st, Jan Stephenson 47th, and Fiona Pike 59th after leading following round one.
