Jarryd Felton, Lucas Herbert, Taylor MacDonald, Ryan Ruffels and Todd Sinnott are exempt from pre- qualifying as a result of their standing inside the top fifty in the world amateur ranking while Kade McBride and Curtis Luck have managed to snare a spot in the field through the qualifying venues.
West Australian, Luck, who just this weekend lost in the semi-finals of US Junior Amateur Championship, and Gold Coaster McBride led their respective venues in qualifying.
19 year old McBride has also been in good form of late. Just last week he became the first international player to win the Oglethorpe Invitational hosted by Wilmington Island Golf Club in Georgia.
McBride tied the tournament record set in 2008 by current PGA Tour player Mark Anderson by recording rounds of 68-64-65"”197 to finish at 16-under par.
Queenslander Aron Wilkin is an alternate after losing a playoff for the one spot available from his qualifier.
New South Wales' William Flitcroft, is also an alternate but the second alternate at his venue.
