Frenchman Gregory Bourdy is the 36 hole leader of the Reale Seguros Open de Espana (Spanish Open), the 30 year old one shot ahead of Englishmen Simon Dyson and Robert Rock, Spain's Jorge Campillo and Italian Matteo Manassero.

Bourdy has been a three time winner on the European Tour although the last of those came in late 2009 at the Hong Kong Open.

One of the pre tournament favourites, Francesco Molinari, is just two behind the lead while two others who were considered amongst the favourites in pre event discussion, Alvaro Quiros and Miguel Angel Jimenez missed the cut.

The only Australasian to make the weekend was Richard Green who is right on the cut mark of 4 over par.

New Zealander Michael Campbell was well inside the cut line with three holes to play but dropped four shots to miss by one.
