Those choosing to play ahead of the Kraft will tee it up at this week's Kia Classic at the Park Hyatt Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad where Spain's Beatriz Recari will seek to defend her playoff victory over In Kyung Kim.
Hee Kyung Seo, Sandra Gal and Yani Tseng are the other winners in the event's four year tenure at the Aviara Golf Club.
Inbee Park, Suzann Pettersen, Stacy Lewis, Lydia Ko and Karrie Webb, the leading five players statistically in the game, are in the field as are the remaining members of the top ten in the Rolex Ranking perhaps a reflection on the fact that the LPGA Tour looks at major preparation in a slightly different manner than their male counterparts.
Perhaps though it may be a reflection on the fact that the LPGA Tour does not enjoy the embarrassment of riches available on the PGA Tour allowing players there to pick and choose a little more.
Away from the favourites this week Caroline Hedwall and Chella Choi could well provide strong opposition for those from the game's top ten with both having played the event well and both playing well enough of late to be a factor.
The usual suspects amongst the Australians are in the field with Webb joined by Katherine Kirk, Lindsey Wright, Sarah Jane Smith, Sarah Kemp and Julia Boland.
In the form Webb is in she may well challenge again give that she finished 6th in the event last year.
