World number one Inbee Park has been 4th and 12th in her two starts in this event and apart from a poor week at the Kraft Nabisco has played well enough in 2014 to add to her already good record in this event.
Defending champion Suzan Pettersen is not in the field, no doubt still in recovery from an injury issue that forced her to withdraw from the Kraft Nabisco.
Azaharo Munoz might well be on the verge of her first LPGA Tour victory, the 26 year old Spaniard having been inside the top twenty in each of her seven starts this season and inside the top ten in her last four starts. Munoz finished runner-up at this event in 2012 and this could well be her week.
Lydia Ko finished 9th in this event as an amateur last year and although she has been below her brilliant best in her last two starts this is a layout she clearly enjoys.
The Australian challenge is headed by Katherine Kirk while Lindsey Wright, Sarah Jane Smith, Stacey Keating, Sarah Kemp and Julia Boland are also in the field.
