Martin confirming class in New Orleans

Ben Martin is playing just his second season on the PGA Tour after missing a season last year, but the manner in which he has played this week at the TPC Louisiana suggests a far greater experienced player than his background would suggest.

He was a US Amateur Championship finalist in 2009 and is a two time winner on the Web.Com Tour but he now has the opportunity to go to an even higher level in the game with a victory on the PGA Tour.

With two third placed finishes this season including at last week's Heritage Classic, Martin has been throwing out signals that an even better performance was looming and while the job is not yet complete he leads by three over Andrew Svoboda with another shot back to Seung Yul Noh and Robert Streb.

Robert Allenby and Stuart Appleby are continuing their recent improvement and are tied in 27th position along with the other joint leading Australian to date this week, Bronson La Cassie.
