The 2012 Victorian Amateur Championship has been decided today at the Yarra Yarra Golf Club in Melbourne's sandbelt.

Both the Men's and Women's titles were up for grabs today over 36 holes and it would be the Queenslander, Taylor MacDonald, from the Redcliffe Golf Club in Brisbane who defeated Anthony Houston from the Kingswood Golf Club in Melbourne to claim the Men's title.

MacDonald won his match 4&3 after leading 4 up at lunch. Earlier this year MacDonald produced a round of 57 at the Redcliffe Golf Club and was a member of the successful Queensland Interstate Team.

In the Women's division it was another Kingswood member, Su-Hyun Oh, the current Australian Girls Champion, a Quarter Finalist at this year's US Women's Amateur and leading qualifier for this event, who won over the 2012 US Junior Champion, Minjee Lee, from WA by a 4&3 margin.

Earlier in the week another Queenslander, Simon Viitakangas, led the qualifiers for the event when winning the Men's Port Phillip Open Amateur.

Su Hyun Oh has won both the Port Phillip Open Amateur and the Victorian Open titles.
