The victory moves Piller from 134th on the money list to 29th and with next week's final event of the regular Web.Com Tour season to be played in Portland in Oregon he is still a chance of earning one of the 25 automatic 2015 PGA Tour cards before the Finals begin in ten days.
Importantly he has made the Finals as only the top 75 players from the Web.Com Tour money list will get the chance to compete with players from 126 to 200 from the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup points table in the four event Final series.
The Piller household is enjoying a great week as his wife Gerina, one of the longer hitters on the LPGA Tour, was having a good week at the LPGA Championship, heading into the final round in Rochester.
Piller, who finished runner-up at the New Zealand Open in Queenstown prior to joining the PGA Tour, won by two shots over his fellow American Bronson Burgoon.
Steve Allan, needing something special, perhaps a top three, next week to force his way inside the top 25, had a good week when leading the Australians in 6th position and moves 13 places to 35th on the money list. Like Piller he will need a big week next week in Portland but he is at least assured a place at the Web.Com Tour Finals.
Adam Crawford finished as the next best Australian in 17th position.
