It is a full strength field with several of those eligible to play in Central and South America having chosen not to do so but to await the arrival of the Tour in North America.
This week's event is followed by the El Bosque Mexico Championship in Leon in Mexico before the Web.Com Tour returns to the US for all but one of the remaining events of the 2014 season, that exception being the Nova Scotia Open in Canada.
The Louisiana Open has been an event on the secondary tour since 1992 and interestingly one previous Australian winner of the tournament is in this week's field. That player is Gavin Coles and he will be joined by fellow Australasians Steve Allan, Adam Crawford, Nick O'Hern, Aron Price, Nathan Green, James Nitties, Rod Pampling, Alistair Presnell, Nick Flanagan, Matthew Gogin, Ashley Hall and Jake Younan.
Australians are well positioned leading into this week with Alistair Presnell (6th) Ashley Hall (8th) Aron Price 19th and Steve Allan (25th) all inside the top 25 at this stage.
