Quick Tips

  • Please make sure you check the PGA Tour website for the current field of players each tournament.
  • Choose four players: 1 x Australian, 1 x USA, 1 x Rest of the World and 1 x Any Player
  • The total of the world ranking points for all four players must not be more than 10.00 points. Our system will add them up for you and display the total.
  • Once you have set your four players on your first tipping tournament, you can only change one player per week after that.
  • Your position on the tipping leaderboard is calculated from the total prizemoney won by your four players. Missed cuts are receive zero dollars.

Selecting Players

1. Choose 4 players according to these rules:

  • You can choose any player that has a World Golf Ranking, but it is advisable to choose all four players from the fully exempt list on the US PGA Tour, as this tour (inc. the majors) will be used as the schedule for the tipping season.
  • Your four players' world golf ranking averages must total no more than 10.00 (This currently rules out Tiger Woods from selection, at least until he has a significant form slump). You can view and choose your players by clicking on the World Rankings link above each player field. These points are automatically updated every week.
  • You must always include one Australian player, one US player, and one other nationality (Rest Of World) in your selections. You are free in the nationality of the fourth player.
  • You are free to choose the same players as an earlier entry if desired.

For instance, this is a valid entry:

  • Aaron Baddeley (AUS) 3.91
  • Jason Gore (USA) 0.97
  • Trevor Immelman (Rest Of The World) 3.71
  • Shaun Micheel (Any Country) 1.41
Total points average: 10.00

NB: Please note your points total can be exactly 10.00 or anything under that figure. You can pick four players to total 5.69 points if you like but obviously the closer you get to 10.00 points the better players you have picked.

2. If your selected picks go up in the rankings, i.e. their points total greater than 10.0 during the season, you can still retain those selections. So if you pick Sergio Garcia at 3.96 and he wins a few tournaments and goes up to 6.57 then you can still keep him despite his World Ranking taking you over the 10 point mark.

3. In between tournaments you can choose to drop one player from your selections, and replace him with any other player, as long as:

  • Your total avg. rankings points are no greater than 10.00 after making the change, based on the current rankings points of all of your players at the time of making the change and
  • You retain one AUS, one US and one Rest Of World player at all times.

For instance, based on the entry above, you could drop Aaron Baddeley if he was injured or not playing in an upcoming tournament, and replace him with another Australian, such that your 4 players still totalled less than 10.00. If you dropped Gore or Micheel, you could replace them with any nationality, as you would still have the other US player in your picks.

4. You can only make changes to your entry:

  • Between eligible PGA tournaments and
  • When the World Golf Rankings have been updated to reflect all worldwide tournaments in progress

Our tipping page will give you the current tipping status of the tournament. Generally the new world rankings are issues on Monday night (AUS time) and as such tipping will be available from Tuesday morning until Thursday night.

5. You can enter at any time during the season, as long as you abide by rules 1 - 4 above. Entries will only be accepted from ISG members.

Scoring

For each tournament, prize money will be allocated to the top half of the scores based on the distribution of typical PGA prize purses. Normal PGA events will have a first prize of $1,000,000 - majors and FedEx Cup Playoff events will have a first prize of $2,000,000. A money list will be updated after each eligible tournament.

Your position on the tipping leaderboard will be determined solely by the amount of money your player earns. If you choose four players and one of them finishes 3rd and the other finishes 31st, you would earn for example $235,000 (3rd) and $23,256 (31st). Your total prize money for that week would be $258,256. You earn nothing for the other two players that missed the cut.

Entries in the bottom half of scores each tournament will be assessed as "missing the cut" and will earn no money for that tournament. Valid entries may have multiple weeks without earnings - this is part of the pressure of the PGA tour! You may of course seek to improve your entry between tournaments if a player is experiencing a form slump.

Prizes

The 2009 prizes will be drawn after the final tournament of the Australasian Summer in mid-December 2009. The prizes will be awarded according to the total money earnt on the Overall leaderboard.
