Ryan McCarthy has secured his state title after winning the Tasmanian Open today with a 14-under-par total at Launceston Golf Club, six strokes from his nearest rival and fellow Tasmanian, Kalem Richardson.
The victory is McCarthy’s first National Trial win and arguably his sweetest following numerous runner-up finishes at the 2008 Victorian State Amateur and 2008 Keperra Bowl.
