16 year old Lexi Thompson took control during the second round of the Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville in Alabama and never let go – extending her lead to five after 54 holes and today completing a five shot victory over Tiffany Joh.
Thompson became the youngest player in the 61 year history of the LPGA Tour to win an event, surpassing the previous mark set by the then 18 year old Marlene Hagge when she won the 1952 Sarasota Open.
