Lynwood Country Club
18 Holes

Lynwood Golf is situated at Pitt Town which is one of the 5 historic towns established by Governor Macquarie in 1810.

It is located about 50km north-west of Sydney. Lynwood takes its name from historic Lynwood House, a colonial-style house built circa 1814 and located on the course property. The 18 hole golf course is set on 230 undulating acres.

It was designed by Graham Papworth, President of the Australian Golf Course Architects Association. The links style 6400 metres, 72 par layout takes advantage of many natural features, including indulations, wetlands and natural rough.

The course boasts a truly magnificent Driving Range, a Practice Green and Short Game Range incorporating Greens and Bunker facilities.

Most tees and greens are visible from the colonial-style clubhouse verandah, with sweeping panoramic views to the Blue Mountains as a backdrop.

First time I've played this course and loved it.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape. The greens are pretty quick but consistent from green to green. Good driving course but beware, the fairway bunkers have been well thought out and will catch a wayward drive.

The staff were great, nice bunch of people. I met a few members as well and they were great. Happy to see me as a guest playing their course.

The only reason I do not give this course a full 5 stars is down to one weird feature. There is a great big tree in the middle of the 18th fairway. Not keen on a hole that punishes a good straight drive off the tee box. Get the chainsaws out lads and get rid of that tree.

One of the best layouts in greater Sydney, with a nice mix of risk/reward holes, strategically-placed hazards and wide fairways. There are 4 tee boxes which allows all levels of golfers to enjoy themselves. Conditioning is generally excellent, particularly the fairways and tees. My only criticism is the hardness of the greens, which were often difficult to hold with anything longer than a pitching wedge. This wasn't a problem on the holes which have open approaches, but when you've got a bunker or water in front of the green the effective landing area is really tiny. This course would be extremely dry and hot in summer, but during winter it was perfect. It was disappointing to see quite a few unrepaired pitch marks. The practice facilities are great, with a full size range, nice pitching and chipping green and a large putting green all available. Don't forget to buy tokens from the pro shop if you want range balls. I'll be back soon.

Played this course for the first time on Saturday and loved it and can't wait to play it again. Exceptional practice facilities and fantastic course layout with plenty of strategy required off the tee. Overall conditioning of the course was superb and the greens were great to putt on although it always frustrates me when a course of this quality is obvioulsy frequented by golfers who don't repair their pitch marks. It's a fantastic course to play in winter but I can imagine you'd absolutely bake here in summer. As other reviewers have stated there's no shelter/shade on the course.
