Course is fine, but...
Unfortunately the round was hindered by extremely slow play (no course marhalls on this course it seems) and a member (of Neanderthal mentality) that decided to hurl abuse at us after a drive landed 50 metres from him. This followed with a near physical altercation as he threatened my playing partner.
Will not be back, nobody deserves to be threatened on a golf course like that, shame to have the actions of one ruin the day and possibility of returning or recommending to anyone.
Is this a signature championship course? No. But, it is a great course! Played here for the first time a few weeks back and the course was in great condition. Layout is good and overall a real surprise package. I would never have known, or thought, it was such a good course. It's a little gem tucked away near the University and Hospital precinct.
Tip for first time golfers: turn right just past the Titans centre and go into the lower carpark to get easy access to the proshop. I missed the signs and ended up walking through the open bar area with my golf bag :(Wow this course has come a long way in past couple years since I last played.
Fairways had full coverage, as well greens. We played back 9 first, greens a bit slow due to being wet still after rains? They started getting a bit quicker after the 5 th or 6th hole. Some fun character to the layout now with a little 13m Par 4th hole- almost a signature hole maybe,
Its well worth the money to try the course out again!Played today. 2pm start and got about 14 holes in before dusk. Almost no one on the course.
I really enjoyed Parkwood. It’s not too long but the layout is varied and interesting with a bit of water around to keep you on your toes. Some of the holes like the par 5 9th make you think and sometimes force a layup. The trees aren’t too dense if you stray off line. Easily one of the most fun courses I’ve played and I’d like to have another go soon. I’d think it would be good to play at any level. Greens were a little slow and shaggy but that’s the only negative comment a have. Add to that they have a good looking bar and restaurant area, an awesome putt putt, and simulator golf too. Staff were very friendly and kindly loaned me a putter.Good course have played for last 15 months and has on going improvements now extending to pathways
Only suggestion for improvement would be a course Marshall as some of the players have no idea of ediquitte
EspeciallyThe best part of the course was the greens. Some nice challenging holes but a few holes on the second nine are undergoing redesign. They had boards with revised distances but I felt they might have been a little out. Current special of $23 which I feel is about right due to the redesign works.
The fairways had a heap of roll due to being hard and very dry. A local told me the area has had very little rain for a while.
One issue is that there is no map of the course on the scorecard or board at the hole showing hazards, as we got caught out a couple of times having not played the course before.
Facilities are flash, beer was cold.
With the amount of courses on the Gold Coast I would probably try one I haven't played rather than head here again.Note: A challenging course with well maintained greens and newly renovated facilities. Just be aware that unlike most clubs, Parkwood has a practice of collecting all your credit card info on a piece of paper (in case of damage) when you sign-in for a cart.
We Played on Sunday the course was the best i had seen it in the 10 years I've been playing at Parkwood. The guys in the Proshop were great. Thanks will be back!!
The last time we player hear the course was under construction and was quite poor. Im glad we came back to Parkwood we paid $45 with cart. The greens were fast and the fairways we really nice.
Played this course after new year and found it in a very neglected state.Fairways where more like rough with big patches of long grass everywhere, definitly needs some attention, paid 60.00 per head with cart, not good value!
What a great course – slow play, lots of Asians but great layout – back 9 was challenging in some places – all in all a fabulous “5 hours” carting around and playing the best game in the world!
Those that think this is an easy course are extremely foolhardy. Water hazards and bunkers in play on almost every hole. Greens are true the members friendly with the drinks cart visiting on course often with a bevy of beverages to suit all tastes. The practice green putts the same as the rest on course and the driving range is open all day. Great staff and a great challenge. Worth a visit at really competitive prices.
Played here last week and had a great day. The course is well layed out and challenging and the staff and ladies from the comp playing behind us were very polite and helpful. Considering joining here as I enjoyed it that much. The course was in tremendous condition and I found several of the holes a real challenge. HIghly recommend.
Firstly i must say, the Pro shop and the 19th hole staff were extremely helpful and friendly, with regards to the course one can certainly say whilst at times it throws up a great challenge to all players, and the greens fee’s are equally relaxing compared to some other course’s not even up to the standard of this course.
I’ll certainly be back, and become a full member shortly….
Overall a lovely course.
I loved this course from the layout to the length of the course, to the driving range, the caterers I might add probably have the best selection of food of had at at a golf course, and very nice service as well.
Onto the golf, pro-shop very helpfull as I'd never played this course before, pointed out where to go etc, very very impressed with course reasonably priced and very easy to walk as well.
Members very helpfull. Overall great surroundings, definatly will be back.
this was the first course I had played on the Gold Coast, was very impressed with Rhett the young man in the pro shop, the member I played with was ever so friendly and the course is very flat, great large greens that are true, I shall be back, and last but not least the green fee very reasonable compared with the other courses I played on
This course is great value. The first few holes are a little average but from about the 4th on this course is fantastic. Well manicured fairways and greens. Great value at $35 for 18 holes on weekends! And the members playing on the course were very friendly and relaxed.
Just joined as a social member, $49 gives me $15 off the green fees and two complimentary rounds!!
Definately reccomend this one, especially for the price on the Coast. Club house is bit old and can't really say it has a pro shop.
Course is great. Heaps of features everywhere. Water or fairway bunkers on just about every hole. Fairways great, greens 8/10.
Good for a lonmg challenge off the blue tees, but can suit anyone with three teeing grounds greatly varying in length, up to 70m difference on a par 3.

Course is great fun but Locals seem to have free range on the course in The arvo several dogs, kids, family’s and cyclist walking/running on the course can be annoying at times as they walk where ever they want. Some how they allowed a group of 9players play one hole at a time in front of our group and would not let us through what a joke!!
